Trochu Valley School has been my home since 1994. I moved to Trochu shortly after graduating from the University of Calgary. I started as an EA and then began my teaching career in the grade six classroom filling in on a maternity leave. I taught in Torrington and at the Huxley Hutterite Colony over the next few years, returning to Trochu in 2000. Most of my teaching experience was in grade six but I have taught almost every grade at one point or another. After spending a year as an instruction coach I realized two things. First, I really missed working with students and secondly, I wanted to further my education. I returned to the classroom and began my Masters of Education achieving my degree in April of 2016.
I became Associate Principal in the 2014/2015 school year and started as Principal in 2016/2017. Tro-Val School has always felt like home and all of my kids hold a special place in my life. I try to live each day working to maximize individual learning and possibilities for each and every one of our students and staff.
Outside of school I am a proud wife, mother of two and Nana to one. We love spending time snowmobiling, playing crib and visiting with friends and family. I have been known to enjoy Netflix marathons, books that have nothing to do with school and baking.
